First Quarter

ASNAPP in collaboration with KNUST have been conducting a follow up study on the Grains of Paradise project at Akanteng to monitor the Cocoa under-storey trials.

Monitoring of research work initiated by ASNAPP in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, KNUST by two undergraduate students is ongoing pending completion in the second semester in June, 2008.

Research on the use of Voacanga as watershed plants is still ongoing at the experimental stage. ASNAPP-Ghana is working towards the acquisition of a 10-acre experimental farm at Trayonya for Voacanga cultivation. The site will be fully acquired when ASNAPP gets the needed financial support

A survey of  Business Development Services for the Natural Plant Products Industry in Ghana have been completed and documented

Review of the enterprise information services for the natural plant products industry in Ghana with emphasis on mode of delivery has been completed and documented.

Second Quarter

Research work at KNUST on Artemisia is being continued with the arrival of planting materials from Rutgers which represents advanced breeding lines developed for their high artemisinin content, large scale biomass production under Ghana conditions.

Over 3,500 seedlings of Voacanga were developed from vegetative cuttings
