Quality Control Quality Assurance 2008
First Quarter
Trials of new products continued in this quarter; patchouli is being multiplied in Gasabo and the trial of chamomile in Gahara is ongoing.
Essential oil samples of geranium and eucalyptus as well as dried leaves of locally-grown and harvested moringa were sent to Rutgers University for analysis.
Second Quarter
Samples of Eucalyptus globulus from 2 different sites in Rwanda were distilled and sent to Rutgers for analysis. The report will be available soon. The results of the analysis will inform us if existing Rwandan E. globulus has a market value or not. Samples of geranium oil also continue to be analyzed at Rutgers for QC assessment. Last crop of geranium oil was accepted by the industry as a Bourbon geranium oil.
